Ogham – The Celtic Tree Alphabet

The ogham is a system of symbols carved into wood or stone, each representing a sacred tree or plant, rich in lore and energy. Traditionally used by druids, ogham speaks the language of the forest—wise, patient, and fierce when needed.

Message from Nuin (Ash Tree)

Nuin is the axis between the worlds—the tree that links the deep roots of the underworld with the branches of the divine. It’s the tree of connection, sacrifice, and rebirth. In Norse myth, Yggdrasil, the World Tree, is often imagined as an ash. It holds all things.

Nuin appears to you now as a quiet bridge between where you’ve been and where you’re going. You are being asked to look at what connects your past pain to your current strength, not to stay stuck, but to gather the wisdom for what’s next.

Reflection

  • What pain or wound do I carry that has also shaped my resilience?

  • What connections in my life are no longer sacred or reciprocal?

  • Am I willing to let go of outdated ties to rise stronger?

Invitation

Tonight or tomorrow, light a small candle and sit with a tree (in person or in your mind’s eye). Ask it to witness you. Ask it to carry what you can no longer hold.

Then write a short letter to your future self—not goals, not hopes—but what you know she will carry that you are building today. Put it in a sacred place.

Until next time,
